Learn the principals of woodturning in WoodZone's
introductory turning class. From safety to setup and sharpening we cover the fundamentals of woodturning while you complete a woodturning project you get to take home.
Whether you're new to woodturning, or a self-taught amateur turner, this class will help you learn the fundamentals of woodturning techniques. Focusing first on safety, we introduce you to the basics of woodturning, proper tool use, and how to operate the wood lathe.
This class focuses on "Spindle-based" projects to demonstrate woodturning techniques. (FYI, Spindle turning involves woodturning between the "Centers" on the lathe. The name comes from turning objects such as chair spindles (legs), stair spindles, and other project.)
During this class you will have the opportunity to make a spindle-based project such as a carving mallet, garden dibble (for planting bulbs), honey dipper, Irish porridge spurtle, and more.
